Featured Articles

• All submissions must be original works created by the person submitting them.
• Plagiarism and AI generated art or articles are prohibited. 
• All sources must be cited.
  • If the source is online, then a link is fine so long as the link goes directly to the cited content. 
  • If the source is a book, a self-conducted interview, etc. and is therefore not able to be cited with a link then it must be cited in either APA, MLA, or AMA format. 
• With exceptions cleared by both Co-Editors, only Blue House server members may contribute.
• Deadlines
  • By the 25th of each month, please send at least a mostly completed draft to either Lapis Lazuli or Poliwhirl. See "Contact" below.
  • Late or last-minute submissions may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

• The primary submission type is non-fiction: such as opinion-editorials, reviews, guides, or research articles.
• Fiction, poetry, and satire will be accepted on a case-by-case basis but are not the content of choice.

• Minimum length of 3,000 words.
• Must relate to the LGBT community. 
• Must be well researched with in-text citations.
• Must be journalistic and professional.
• Only one article per issue will be the "Featured Article"

  • "How to Seek Asylum in the United States if You are Transgender" (Volume 2, Issue 6)
  • "Homosexuality and Blood Donations: Updating an Outdated System” (Volume 3, Issue 1)

• Minimum length of 1500 words.
• Of one of the acceptable categories.
• Non-standard categories may be welcome.
  • Accepted on a case-by-case basis: satire, poetry, or non-fiction.
  • Please see Page 1 of the most recent issue under "About Next Issue" for special submission categories.

• Cover art must be detailed and visually appealing with no unused/white space.
• Aspect ratio must be roughly A4 or 8.5:11 to be depicted in a landscape or portrait orientation.
• Minimum resolution of 1000 pixels.
• Thematically relevant to the server or the community. In other words, be "Blue House-core"
• Must have a title, and be accompanied by a descriptive paragraph of at least 150 words.
• Please see most recent issues for examples.

• May be one image, or a series of smaller images with short descriptions about them.
• Examples:
  • "Propaganda Poster" by Miku, Volume 3, Issue 1 on page 14.
  • "Simple Succulent" by Cuddly, Volume 2, Issue 6 on page 10.
• Supplementary art will be accepted on a limited basis. We will maintain a ratio of 3 written articles per one piece of Supplementary Art. 
• Photoshops for submissions may be accepted.
  • The material used must be ethically sourced.
  • Must be original and transformative from the source material.

• Overly political, biased, partisan or otherwise extremist content.
• All submissions must be “SFW” and appropriate. Nothing overly vulgar or sexual.
• Content that attacks or denigrates an individual or group of people will not be accepted.
